McLaren Murdoch & Hamilton is an award-winning architectural practice with offices in Edinburgh and Perth. Founded in 1967, we celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2017.

 

Our extensive portfolio covers projects across the commercial and residential sectors, as well as student residential, public sector, leisure and ecclesiastical work. We are Scotland's leading motor retail architect, with a considerable body of experience for clients including Eastern Western Motor Group, John Clark Motor Group, Vertu Motors Plc and Parks of Hamilton and covering such major brands as Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, VW, Nissan, Mazda, Honda and Citroen-DS. We are UK Panel Architects for Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Citroen and DS.

Development services including feasibility studies, development plans, planning reports and submissions, deed plans and legal submissions.

Surveys and investigations including building surveys, land surveys, energy surveys, and dilapidation schedules.

Design services, including space planning, interior design, shop fitting and advice on the commissioning or selection of works of art.

Cost control and procurement, including budgets, cost planning, and advice on forms of contract and procurement routes.

Project management, including a full project management service from inception to completion, construction management, design and build, and management of separate trades contracts.

Consultancy services, including independent professional advice on all aspects of design and construction, negotiations, claims, and appeals.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) including agency provision of our CAD facility, training, and transfer of survey or drawing data onto CAD.

Principal Designer services under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

Our Team

The MMH team consists of a varied group of highly qualified people each with their individual expertise. The practice encourages their staff to be individual in completing the task in a manner that suits their personal skills.

Staff are encouraged to develop their individual skills as well as their general practice by either attending out-of-office courses or in- house CPD seminars. MMH regularly organises in- house training dealing with a wide range of issues relating to the profession of architecture and design and the construction industry at large.
